Office catering for every kind of working day

South has provided office catering across Manchester and the North West since 2006. Most of what leaves our kitchens is everyday food for everyday work: the platters for a Tuesday team meeting, the lunch bags for a training day, the breakfast barms for an early client visit. It is all fresh, cold finger food (breakfast is the one hot exception), made on the day and delivered by our own drivers.

The people who order from us are office managers, PAs and team leads who need food that turns up on time, feeds everyone in the room and does not need a fuss made of it. If that sounds like you, the rest of this page walks through what to order, how it works and what it costs to have delivered (nothing).

The food is simple and done properly. Bread comes from our baker in Northwich, meats from a farm supplier in Bury and salads from Smithfield in Manchester. Platters arrive with lids on, in cool bags that keep everything fresh for up to four hours, so a delivery at 11am is still right for a 1pm meeting. Plates, napkins, cutlery and disposables all come as standard, free of charge.

Working lunches and meetings

Sandwich platters on a choice of breads, savoury selections, salads, fruit and cakes that people can eat at a boardroom table or back at their desks. One full sandwich per person is the rule of thumb, and our sandwich platters page explains the Basics, Classics and Premium ranges. For a bigger meeting or a training day, our buffet catering range covers the whole spread.

Breakfast for early starts

Hot bacon and sausage barms, vegan cheese and tomato barms, filled croissants, pastries, granola pots and fresh fruit, with tea and coffee if you need it. Office breakfast catering is the easiest way to get a 9am meeting off to a good start, and our full breakfast menu can be viewed in the Breakfast section of the website.

Snack boxes for the days in between

Not every day needs a full lunch. Our office snack boxes hold between nine and sixty individually wrapped items, from healthy bars and fruit crisps to sharing treats, so there is something in the kitchen for the whole team through the week.

Small offices, big teams and everything between

We cater for four people upwards and there is no upper limit, so the same menu works for a mini team catch-up and a full-floor lunch. Not sure what your team will like? Book a free, no-obligation sample meeting and we will bring a platter to your office so the people who order can taste it first. Planning ahead for December? Our Christmas office catering page covers festive platters and party buffets for the whole team.

Platters, lunch bags, snack boxes or breakfast?

Four ways to feed an office, and when each one earns its place. Most orders mix at least two of them, so this is a guide rather than a rule.

Mix and match in one order. Plates and napkins come with everything.

How office lunch delivery works

Ordering office catering online takes a few minutes. Here is the whole process.

  1. Pick your food

Browse the online menu, filter by dietary need and add platters, bags or boxes for your headcount. Prices are available once you log in.

  2. Choose a delivery slot

Pick the day and the time. The free 10:00am–1:00pm slot suits most lunches, and breakfast slots run early enough for a 9am start.

  3. We make it fresh

Your order is prepared on the morning of delivery in whichever of our four kitchens is nearest, then packed by the team that made it.

  4. It arrives ready to serve

Our own driver brings it in cool bags with plates and napkins to reception or the meeting room. Lids off, and lunch is sorted.

Feeding a mixed room? Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free (coeliac), halal, dairy-free and nut-free options run through the whole menu, and allergens are flagged on every item. See our dietary choices, or read about corporate catering if you are planning something bigger than lunch.

Reliable delivery across Greater Manchester and Warrington

We deliver office catering from our kitchens in Trafford Park, Warrington, St Helens and Bolton, so most of the North West is within easy reach. Delivery is free, though a few time slots and outlying locations carry a minimum spend. You will always see this before you book. Your food arrives in cool bags that keep it fresh for up to four hours, ready to lay out when you are.

We are a local business with our own drivers, so the same team takes your order, packs the vans and delivers it. These are the areas we cover most often.

I have used South on numerous occasions now for lunch at work. I find it very easy to order online, and the fact you can order up to a day before makes it very flexible. Food is always delivered on time and well packaged.

Office catering questions, answered

Order by 1pm the working day before for lunch, or by 10am the working day before for breakfast. A few items need 48 hours and the menu tells you which as you order. Miss the cut-off? Call the office and we will tell you what is still possible that day. Our FAQs page has the full details.

We cater for four people or more, so a small office is fine. Delivery is free across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, though some time slots and outlying locations carry a minimum spend, and the website shows it before you commit to a slot. At the other end there is no upper limit: a lunch for a hundred is ordered the same way as a lunch for six.

Yes. Every item on the menu is priced per person or per platter, so once you log in you can see the total for your headcount before you order. If you would rather have it in writing, request our brochure and pricing and we will send both over.

For most meetings, a sandwich platter plus a savoury platter and some fruit covers everyone. Add a salad or pasta pots for a longer session, or switch to lunch bags when people are eating at their desks or heading out to an away day. For an afternoon session, a cake platter or a snack box keeps the room going. If you are not sure, the set business lunch menus bundle the popular combinations into one choice.

Yes. Hot bacon and sausage barms, vegan cheese and tomato barms, filled croissants, pastries, granola pots and fruit are all on the breakfast menu, with tea and coffee available too. Breakfast slots run early enough for a 9am start, and the barms travel in insulated bags so they are still warm when the meeting begins. Our breakfast delivery page has the full range.

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, dairy-free and nut-free options run through the whole menu, and most meat platters include vegetarian sandwiches as standard. Use the dietary filter when you order, or add individual dietary lunches so specific guests get their own labelled meal.

Greater Manchester, Warrington and most of Cheshire, from our kitchens in Trafford Park, Warrington, St Helens and Bolton. That covers Manchester city centre, Salford, Stockport, Oldham, Bury, Altrincham, Sale, Widnes and Runcorn, among others, and Manchester Airport too. See the full list on our delivery locations page, or read about office catering in Manchester specifically.

Yes. Plenty of offices order the same Friday lunch or Monday breakfast every week. Set up an online account, save your favourites and a repeat order takes a couple of minutes. Orders can be amended or cancelled online up to the cut-off, so a change of headcount is not a problem. Regular customers can also apply for a credit account and pay monthly by invoice.
